Mindfulness StretchingTM was developed from the practices as detailed in Stretching and Flexibility (Kit Laughlin, 1999). A significant difference in emphasis between Stretch TherapyTMand Mindfulness StretchingTM is the former’s focus on extending the participant’s Range of Movement, athletic performance and flexibility, and the latter’s focus on the relief of chronic aches pains and stress relief.  Mindfulness StretchingTM also provides participants with significantly more coaching with regard to breathing practices which extends participant’s cognitive engagement prior to a contract/relax sequence.
