Breathe your way to inner calm

Mindfulness Stretching – reduce stress, manage anxiety, and feel more comfortable in your body

Mindfulness Stretching – a unique therapeutic practice that helps reduce stress, manage anxiety, sleep well and feel more comfortable in your body. This is not athletic performance stretching: it’s Relaxation Stretching, Therapeutic Stretching.

The Practice has you come into a static shape (chair or yoga mat) and then just feel sensations in your body as they change with every breath. We closely follow how we get slightly tighter as we inhale and slightly softer as we exhale.

Close observation of this internal ebb & flow of sensation makes for an amazing mindfulness / meditation. Quite different to “observe your thoughts come and go”, its “look over here” and then “now look over here”…

We make the gap between tightening and softening a bit bigger with soft contractions and enhanced relaxations. Developing this gap is like enhancing HRV (heart rate variability) and this is a fantastic demonstration of enhanced calming of the physical body.

No matter what your body shape, strength or flexibility level, Mindfulness Stretching works with your natural capacity for gentle movement and your own body’s instinct for its limits.

CalmBeing’s Mindfulness Stretching classes deliver calm, wellbeing and psychological regulation. From the first session participants report better sleep, emotional calm and a sense of inner quietness.

The effects of a class go well beyond the hour-long session. In a survey of participants 85% reported benefits from the class (reductions in chronic aches and pains) for five days or more.

Classes run in 10 week blocks with your instructor to talk you through the somatic sensations as they move through your body with every breath.  The practices are suitable for all levels of fitness and accommodates most physical aches, ailments and discomforts.

CalmBeing offers Mindfulness Stretching in community venues, in corporate settings and provides teacher training for those interested to bring calm into the lives of others.

CalmBeing’s foundation principal is that calming the body quietens and eases the mind and the psyche. We have been running classes since 2009, so you can be sure you will get the best care and benefit. Book your first term today.
